HERRIN (WSIL) -- is returning in 2021 to celebrate the festival's 30th anniversary.
HerrinFesta Italiana will celebrate it's anniversary May 24-May 31.
HerrinFesta Italiana plans to use their traditionally-used concert venue area, known as The Piazza, to deliver an expanded Carnival Midway and Food Court to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The Piazza will additionally house a new Beverage Garden for adults. The traditional rides and games will also make a return.
Mayor Steve Frattini says it will be like "Disney for the Midwest."
"I think it's going to be good for the spirit of the community in terms of something back to normal and something that is fun and enjoyable," he said.
