CARTERVILLE Ill. (WSIL) -- Sunshine and seasonably warm temperatures will return Thursday. Highs will climb back above average, into the low 90s. The good news is, the heat will be short lived.
A cold front will move through the region by Friday, dropping highs back into the low 80s. Unfortunately, any rainfall looks to be limited. An isolated shower or storm is possible, but some areas could end up completely dry. Any rain that will do see will also be light.
The biggest change from the front will be the temperatures. Much cooler and drier air will settle in by the weekend. It will be very fall-like with high temperatures in the mid 70s and low in the 40s.
