...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

IDOT announces road closure for bridge inspection

WSIL 鈥� In two weeks, the US 60/62 bridge that crosses the Mississippi River in the Cairo area will be closed for crews to perform a required annual safety inspection.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) says the closures are scheduled to begin on Monday, March 18聽at 8:00 a.m. extending through Thursday, March 21聽at 12:00 p.m. and Monday, March 25聽at 8:00 a.m. extending through Thursday, March 28聽at 12:00 p.m.

The bridge will be open to all traffic from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. each night.
