(WSIL) -- The Illinois State Rifle Association is among a handful of groups filing a lawsuit against the Protect Illinois Communites Act.

The bill, signed into law on January 10, bans the sale, transaction, transfer and possession of assault style rifles and places caps on magazines to 10 for long guns and 15 for hand guns.

The 28-page lawsuit also lists dozens of weapons that it considers to be 'common use firearms'.
