MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- Animal organizations in southern Illinois are stepping up to help those who are needing assistance with those who have pets impacted by the recent tornado in southern Illinois.
"The severe weather has hit many of our local towns and communities. This can cause displaced pets. If you have a lost or found pet please reach out to your local animal control for assistance," Williamson County Animal Control said in a post. Wright-Way Rescue is also stepping up to assist pet owners impacted by the storm. They are offering various support services to ensure no pet is left behind.
"If your pet has been displaced and you need temporary care while you regroup, please reach out," said Wright-Way Rescue. They are seeking both pet owners in need and those who can provide foster care.
TimberTrails Veterinary Services is providing free veterinary care to pets injured or traumatized by the storm.
"We’re distributing free pet food, crates, and supplies to families affected to help you care for your pets," Wright-Way Rescue added.
For those who have lost pets, the organization is facilitating lost pet postings to help reunite families.
Wright-Way Rescue is also collaborating with Williamson County Animal Control to accommodate displaced pets. They emphasize community support, saying, "No animal will be left behind. We’re in this together."
