PRAIRIE DU ROCHER, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Fort de Chartres Rendezvous, a beloved annual event in Randolph County, is set to take place June 7 and 8 at the Fort de Chartres State Historic Site.
The Rendezvous will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities including a flintlock muzzleloader shooting competition, period food and entertainment, and 18th-century children’s games.
The event is free and open to the public with special event parking available for $10 per car. The site is located at 1350 Illinois 155, about four miles west of Prairie du Rocher.
Les Coureurs des Bois de Fort de Chartres hosts the event, with sponsorship from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Les Amis du Fort de Chartres. The historic site is a National Historic Landmark, featuring a reconstruction of the third fort built by the French in the 18th century.
