ELDORADO, Ill. -- Ferrell Hospital was hit again with floodwaters after multiple inches of rainfall hit the area on Sunday.
Ferrell Hospital sent out a release on Monday, stating water again made its way into the facility on July 28.
This latest flooding came months later after they were forced to close their doors at the main building on May 8, 2024. This was when floodwaters also rushed through the healthcare facility and caused water damage after a round of storms hit then as well.
On July 28, roughly five inches of rain hit the Eldorado area, again bringing flooding in neighborhoods throughout the Eldorado community.
The hospital said the latest flooding on Sunday primarily affected their emergency department and clinic entrance areas.
Staff members at Ferrell Hospital responded quickly to the flooded areas at the hospital and already have started the cleanup process, according to a report from the hospital. They also said they have called in experts to assess any potential damage as well.
"Rest assured, we're taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and integrity of our facility," Ferrell Hospital stated. "We remain committed to providing high-quality care to our community and will keep you updated on any developments that might affect your upcoming appointments."
The hospital staff also thanks the community for their continued support through this time.
