...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Areas of southern Illinois along and south of Highway 13
and all of western Kentucky.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop across
southern Illinois and western Kentucky. Areas that see
thunderstorms could receive 1.5 to 3.0 inches of rain in just
one or two hours, with locally higher amounts up to 4 inches
possible.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Heartland Mule Riders and Make A Wish host fun day for kids in Southern Illinois

STONEFORT, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Heartland Mule Riders Association joined forces with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a family fun day in Southern Illinois on Saturday, May 31.

Attendees enjoyed wagon rides, mule rides, and a petting zoo. Professional photographers captured the moments, while children played in bouncy houses and fished. The event also featured popcorn, cotton candy, and s’mores, with lunch provided by the Stonefort General Baptist Church.

Generous donations and volunteers helped make the event a success. Approximately 130 people attended to support the children.

Each child left with a stuffed plush mule, a gift from the Heartland Mule Riders Association.
