ILLINOIS -- Hundreds of thousands of counterfeit drugs were seized recently by Illinois State Police (ISP) in the northern part of the state.
ISP said it happened on the northbound side of I-57 in northeastern Illinois when they seized roughly 123 pounds of counterfeit drugs.
There were 500,000 fake pills laced with fentanyl with a value of between $5 million - $10 million.

"Thousands of lives saved by this bust!!" ISP said in a Facebook post.
ISP is still investigating.
