EDWARDS COUNTY, Ill. (WEVV) � An investigation is underway in southern Illinois after a judge was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound.
As we reported, authorities said they began investigating a death that happened on Tuesday afternoon.
The Edwards County Coroner now tells us that 41-year-old County Circuit Judge Michael J. Valentine is the man who died.
According to the coroner, Judge Valentine was found dead at his home in Albion, Illinois, with an apparent gunshot wound.
No other details are available right now, and the incident remains under investigation by Illinois State Police.
