The Illinois Lottery says a southern Illinois man is now a millionaire after buying a winning scratch off ticket in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- A very lucky southern Illinois man recently claimed some major money on a scratch off ticket. According to the Illinois Lottery, the winner (who wishes to remain anonymous) won $1 million after scratching an Illinois Lottery Instant Ticket.
The winning ticket was sold at a Circle K gas station and convenience store in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The winner told Illinois Lottery officials that his girlfriend was the "scratcher" and could not believe her eyes when she realized what they had won.
Plans for the cool million include buying a new house and generosity with family.
