MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WSIL) -- Money raised at regional events from a local nonprofit organization has helped many across the area.
Nine88 recently performed at Route 51 Brewery which raised funds, and in-turn, will stay to help out local organizations.
This was a special concert at Route 51 Brewery as the funds raised by Nine88's performances in the last 15 years have surpassed the $100,000 mark.
With this recent event, the Murphysboro Food Pantry were recipients of $1,000 from Nine88 and the Knights of Columbus.
The Nine88 band is with the Knights of Columbus #988 and has performed at numerous venues across the region over the years, including Molly's Pint in Murphysboro, Brews Brothers Taproom, Big Muddy Brewing, multiple venues in St. Louis and other regional venues. They've also played at various Catholic church venues as well.
The ceremonious check of reaching the $100,000 mark was presented last week by the Murphysboro Knights of Columbus #988.Â
The money raised over the years has gone to multiple area organizations, including the Murphysboro Food Pantry, START (Specialized Training for Adult Rehabilitation), Revitalize 62966, 724 Ministries at Walker House, Hospice of Southern Illinois, Friends for the Advancement of Catholic Education (FACE), St. Andrew Church, St. Andrew School, Crimson Express, and more.
