MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WSIL) -- Multiple southern Illinois agencies are investigating auto burglaries and thefts across the area recently.
Police in Murphysboro alerted the public on Monday morning, stating they, along with other agencies, are investigating several vehicle thefts and auto burglaries going on in the past few weeks.

- If possible, secure your vehicle in a garage
- Never leave your vehicle unattended while running
- Do not leave your spare keys in your vehicle
- Always roll up your windows and secure your vehicle
- Park in well-lit areas when possible
