Sheriff's Office Investigating Reported Assault in Saline County, Suspect Wanted

HARRISBURG, Ill. -- The sheriff's office is investigating an assault report which they said happened on the bike path between Harrisburg and Carrier Mills on Wednesday.

The Saline County Sheriff's Office said the reported assault happened on the bike path between Liberty Road and Ledford Road.

Police said they have a description of the suspect who was on the bike path between Poplar Street and Carrier Mills between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The suspect was described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a dark shirt, long shorts and pink shoes.

Anyone with any information on this are urged to call the Saline County Sheriff's Office at 618-252-8661.

The sheriff's office also asked if anyone has any security camera footage in the area to review them and then contact the sheriff's office if you have video or a photo of the suspected person.
