JACKSON COUNTY (WSIL) -- An investigation is underway after an inmate died at the Jackson County Jail.
On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, Jackson County Corrections Deputies discovered Kevin Widdows, 34 of Carbondale, dead in his jail cell.
Widdows was the only occupant of his cell.
A death investigation is being conducted by Illinois State Police along with the Jackson County Coroner's Office.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2021.
