Kentucky State Police now say the body found in Cadiz, Ky Tuesday morning was a child.
Trigg County Dispatch contacted state police around 11 a.m.
Initial investigation shows that a small child walked away from a home and was later found by a neighbor in a small pond close by.
The Trigg County Coroner pronounced the child dead at the scene.
The death appears to be accidental and no foul play is suspected. An autopsy is scheduled at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office in Madinsonville, Ky.
Detective David Dick continues the investigation. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Trigg County Sheriff's Office, Trigg County EMS, and the Trigg County Coroner.

CADIZ, Ky. (WSIL) -- Kentucky State Police and local authorities are investigating after a body was found Tuesday morning in Trigg County.
Trigg County Dispatch contacted state police around 11 a.m. Tuesday. A body had been discovered in a pond behind a house near Cadiz, Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police, along with Trigg County deputies, are currently on scene.
No other information is being released at this time.
