John A Logan College offers new security guard training

John A Logan College's Center for Workforce and Community Education is partnering with HBT Security Group, Inc. to begin a new Secuity Guard Training Program.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill., (WSIL) -- A new training course will soon be available for a growing profession - security. John A Logan College's Center for Workforce and Community Education is partnering with HBT Security Group, Inc. to begin a new Security Guard Training Program.

The course begins on Thursday, October 24, and will run every Wednesday and Thursday evening from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. through November 21. The classes will be held on the JALC campus, with the first course called "Unarmed'. The cost of the class is $250 per student, which is roughly about $12 per hour in the classroom. Participants who complete the course successfully will get credentials and 1.5 vocational credit.

The second phase of the course is called "Security Guard Training - Armed" will then start up on January 8, 2025, and run every Wednesday and Thursday evening through February 6th. Those classes will run from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Coursework for this class is a little more extensive, which brings the cost to $365.
