...Scattered Thunderstorms with Gusty Winds and Torrential
Downpours...

At 3:35 PM CDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar was
tracking scattered thunderstorms the Evansville Tri-State area
into southern Illinois and far western and northwestern Kentucky.
These storms are producing torrential downpours, gusty winds up
to 40 mph, and frequent lightning strikes. If outdoors, seek
shelter in a sturdy structure if you hear thunder or see a flash
of lightning. Localized street flooding is also possible from
these thunderstorms.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values of 100 to 107.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana,
western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high
humidity may cause heat illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health
impacts will build with each successive day in the heat and
humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

Johnston City beats Eldorado Eagles on the road 42-16

Johnston City High School Prepares for Upcoming Football Season

ELDORADO, IL (WSIL) -- The Johnston City Indians took to the road to compete against the Eldorado Eagles in a week two Friday night football matchup.

The Indians came out onto the field with a vengeance, as the Indians' Isiah Watson breaks tackles and pushes his way to the endzone, giving Johnston City a sizeable 14-0 lead. 

The Eagles began to fight back, but Johnston City's Nolan Causey became a ballhawk and intercepted the Eagles' QB , and Causey ran the ball all the way back to the ten yard line.

The Indians' running back Watson already had a nose for the endzone, so he took another whiff at it and scores again, pushing the lead to 21-0.

Watson continued his dominant performance with one more rushing touchdown, completing the scoring hat trick.

Johnston City kept complete control of the game, comfortably beating the Eldorado Eagles 42-16.
