FRANKFORT, Ky. (WSIL) â€� Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is requesting additional aid for counties affected by the flooding in early April.Â
The Governor's request is to add 16 counties for Individual Assistance and to receive 64 counties for Public Assistance.Â

Gov. Beshear says damage is still being assessed across the Commonwealth, and they hope to add another 15 counties to the list of requests.Â
In a social media post, Gov. Beshear says, "This is a long process, but we are working hard to ensure every community and every Kentuckian affected by the widespread flooding receives the help they need and deserve. We'll continue to keep you updated � and remember, we'll get through this together."
Gov. Beshear says FEMA Recovery Centers have already been set up in 13 counties in Kentucky, including one in McCracken County in our region.Â
The centers will provide in-person help for residents recovering from flood damage.
