MURRAY, Ky. -- Two people are in jail facing charges in a murder investigation of a 17-month-old female.
The Murray Police Department said at around 5 p.m. on Monday, October 23, officers went to the Murray Calloway County Hospital Emergency Department for a female who was unresponsive and had signs of possible physical abuse.
Later, the child was pronounced dead.
Murray Police Department, along with the Calloway County Coroner's Office, investigated the child's death. Detectives also gathered evidence in relation to this investigation.
Chyanne Niemeyer, 24, and Nathaniel Gibson, 20, were both charged with murder and criminal abuse, 1st degree (child 12 or under).
The investigation is ongoing.
