...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Daily heat index values up to 106.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged exposure to hot temperatures and high humidity
may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Local gun owners gather for rally in Springfield

MARION, Ill. � Gun owners in Southern Illinois are riding on a bus to Springfield ahead of a planned march to the state capitol.

The Illinois State Rifle Association will hold it’s annual Illinois Gun Owner Lobby Day, also known as IGOLD, today at the Bank of Springfield Center. Doors open at 10:30 a. m. and the event is slated to start at 11:45 a. m., according to a on ISRA’s website.

News 3’s Dave Davis spoke with a co-owner of a gun shop who fears the new bills being proposed in Springfield could threaten businesses and gun owners� second amendment rights.
