...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values 100 to 107 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first prolonged stretch of heat and
humidity of the season will amplify health impacts. Health impacts
will build with each successive day in the heat and humidity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Longtime Carterville farmer laid to rest with special honor

(WSIL) -- Long time farmer George McKinney of Carterville passed away last Friday and his family decided to honor him in a very special way.

Will McKinney is the grandson of George, and he came up with the idea to put out his farm equipment for all to see during the funeral processional.

"Well you know I had seen some other tributes before that people had done, and I just love my Grandpa, and I figured it would be a nice send off for him," said McKinney.

His family wants McKinney remembered for being a good Farmer, a good father and grandfather, and a hard worker.

George McKinney died from complications with COVID-19. His family wants to remind everyone to wear a mask and stay safe.
