FARMINGTON, Ky. (WSIL) -- A man is in custody and faces charges after authorities said he barricaded himself in someone else's home during the time he was served an arrest warrant in Graves County on Tuesday.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office said deputies went out to an address on Farmington Street in Farmington, which is just southeast of Mayfield at 11 a.m. on October 1.
The sheriff's office there said they were trying to serve a warrant on Anthony L. Turner for drug and gun charges.
As authorities got to the scene, Turner would not come out and sent messages threatening to use a gun, the sheriff's office detailed in a report.
A perimeter was set up and after hours after negotiations, Turner then surrendered to authorities at around 3:20 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
After taken to the Jackson Purchase Medical Center to be checked on, Turner then was taken to a detention facility outside of Graves County.
Authorities said Turner was then charged with Resisting Arrest and Criminal Trespass 1st Degree, in addition to previous charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of Firearms by a Felon.
Assisting Graves County Sheriff's Office at the scene was the McCracken County Sheriff's Office SWAT and Negotiation teams, along with Mayfield-Graves County EMS being on standby.
