Southeast Missouri woman seriously injured after crash

OAK RIDGE, Mo. (WSIL) -- One person was sent to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing into a tree on Tuesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) states the crash took place on December 24, at 12:40 a.m., along I-55 going northbound near the 110 mile marker.

MSHP reports a 29-year-old from Jackson was driving a 2016 Nissan Juke when the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the St. Francis Medical Center with serious injuries.

State police stated the woman did not have on a safety device at the time of the crash.
