DELTA, Mo. (WSIL) -- The Whitewater Fire Protection District Chief Garry Moore died while searching for people during a recent storm near Delta.
The fire district stated Moore was responding to a mutual request to Delta on April 2, to help with searching for others after the EF-2 tornado hit the area and caused widespread damage.
When Moore was responding, fire crews said he stopped to help a vehicle off the road.
A short time later, he was found dead at the scene.
An investigation into his death is ongoing.
