(WSIL) -- Afternoon thunderstorms and triple digit heat indices will return to today's forecast.
Overall, Sunday will be much like Saturday, with scattered pop up storms late this morning and this afternoon. Some may hear a few rumbles of thunder with some rainfall approaching our northern counties this morning. This activity will likely diminish this morning. This afternoon's storms don't have severe potential, but will bring lightning.
A cold front will slowly work through the region by early Monday. This will keep Monday's storm chance in our southern most counties. The front doesn't appear to bring us much of a break in terms of temperatures. Any break (if at all) in humidity will be short lived. Heat and humidity will generally get more intense as we progress through the next work week.
