PADUCAH, Ky. (WSIL) -- Heavy rain has caused traffic incidents in McCracken County on Saturday.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they have responded to multiple crashes on I-24 on Saturday morning.

The sheriff's office said the crashes happened along I-24 in the westbound lanes between the 11 and 7 mile markers.

The crashes were reported to have been because of vehicles hydroplaning in this area. Traffic was also reported backed up in this area.

Motorists are urged to use caution when driving. The sheriff's office also said they urge people to avoid this area, if possible, as well.

Heavy rain is expected in this region throughout the day on Saturday and into Sunday.
