Crews were at the scene when an explosion came from the house, sending people to quickly aid those inside.
CHRISTOPHER, Ill. (WSIL) â€� Multiple crews, including the Christopher Fire Department, are on scene of a large fire in Christopher.Â
Dispatch confirmed that that call came in around 8 a.m. Thursday morning for a fire on S. Snider Street.Â
Dispatch says more than 11 agencies responded to the fire. While crews were on scene, an explosion happened. At this point, multiple first responders rushed to help.
Witnesses on scene tell our team this property is home to a family of eight people, including six children. The family was home at the time the fire broke out, but was able to get out safely.
Fire officials are investigating the matter.
