MARION (WSIL) -- Several local artists are working on a new mural that will hang outside the American Legion in Herrin.
The Little Egypt Art Association has employed four of its artists to paint seven individual four by six foot paintings that will eventually come together to become one large mural.
The mural will depict seven different major conflicts in American history from World War I to Afghanistan.
Kriss Killman with the Little Egypt Art Association says the murals are almost finished but need to undergo final approval from veterans.
"If you don't have a pistol grip right, or a tank barrel right, or something like that, they're going to point that our real quick. So I need to get those guys over here first before we seal it up for sure."
The murals will have a graffiti-proof seal applied before they are placed in the coming weeks.
