CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- In this edition of Pets of the Week, three dogs and two cats are up for adoption.
Meiko is a 1-year-old Hound/Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 lbs. He can be quite shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience, he'll be a lap dog in no time. He does best in a home with children 8-years-old or older. He is also scared of cats. You can learn more about Meiko at the Humane Society of Southern Illinois in Murphysboro.
Kaz has made this list before. He's been at the Perry County Humane Society for a year now, so he is hoping to find a new forever family. He is almost 2-years-old, and that means he has spent over half his life in a shelter. He is up for adoption at the shelter in Du Quoin.
Lola is a Shepherd-mix who is about a-year-and-a-half old. She is available for adoption or rescue, with her adoption fee set at $50.00. she is already spayed and microchipped, and her rabies shot is good till January 19, 2020. You can call the City of Marion Animal Control to adopt Lola.
Buffy is no vampire slayer, but she is good with dogs, cats, and livestock. She is a 3-year-old Boxer/Pit mix who is very playful with kids. She is crate trained and working on becoming housebroken. You'll have to keep an eye on her though, so she needs a fenced-in yard to run free. She is up for adoption at Wayne County Humane Society in Fairfield.
