CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Northern Lights, otherwise known as the Aurora Borealis, should be visible for most people using their cameras and possibly with the naked eye on Sunday night.

This is due to a halo coronal mass ejections (CME) which hit the Earth's magnetic field on June 1, at 5:42 UTC, according to .

This has caused a severe geomagnetic storm to impact a large portion of the United States, including areas in the southern portion of the United States.
