CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- As summer-like weather approaches, more people will want to head outdoors. If you're looking for a walk-buddy to be outside with, check out the list of animals up for adoption in this edition of Pets of the Week.

There are six dogs, four males, and two females, up for adoption at Jefferson County Animal Control. They are Boxer/American Bulldog-mix and need a forever home. To learn more about the dogs, contact the shelter in Mt. Vernon.

Pumpkin, who is also known as Princess, is a 10-year-old Pomeranian. She is spayed and used to being an only dog. She is a good fit for someone who is retired or at home most of the time. Pumpkin also gets along with cats. For adoption information, call the City of Herrin Animal Control.

Oliver is a sweet cat with big beautiful eyes and a sweet face. To find out more about him, call the Humane Society of Southern Illinois in Murphysboro.

Precious is a gorgeous white and gray female Domestic Shorthair cat. She has beautiful amber eyes and was owner surrendered. Precious is about three and a half years old. Her adoption fee at PAWS Place Adoption Center in Anna is $75.00.
