CARTERVILLE (WSIL) -- There is one feline amongst the pups, in this edition of Pets of the Week.
Quartz is a two-year-old Domestic Shorthair kitty who would love to be a typical house cat. She enjoys lounging, playing with toys, and eating treats. Quartz is a quirky girl who loves attention, but mainly on her terms. She will politely let you know when she has had enough. You can learn more about her at the Humane Society of Southern Illinois in Murphysboro.
Hamlin is a five-year-old Lab-mix who weighs 70 pounds. This big boy needs a home without dogs or cats since he prefers to be the only furry one in the house. If your house meets these criteria, he may be the pet for you. He is at the Perry County Humane Society in Du Quoin.
Luna is a two-year-old Pit/Boxer mix who loves to play and go for walks. She gets along with dogs, but not cats. She is also heartworm negative and vaccinated. Her adoption fee at the City of Herrin Animal Control has been waived, and her spay is weight-based. Microchipping can be arranged for $20.00.
Lastly, is this male Coonhound, who is between five and six years old and ready for adoption. The adoption fee at Williamson County Animal Control covers the cost of neuter, rabies vaccination, and microchip. Contact the shelter in Marion for more information.
