UNION COUNTY, IL (WSIL) -- It's out with the old and in with the new at Rendleman Orchards this Labor Day weekend as they open their You-Pick flower fields.
Hundreds of sunflowers and thousands of wild flowers fill the fields next to Rendleman's country store. Dozens of folks arrived early Sunday, with gates opening a little early for families eager to get inside. Visitors can stroll through wildflower fields and pick their own to take home.
Rendleman Orchards vice president Michelle Sirles says a variety of apple-flavored products are also available just as Peach season is winding down.
"We really enjoy being part of people's fall," says Sirles. "Our pumpkins are early this year, so we also have the you-pick pumpkin patch open. And we have all of our Fall photo ops up and we're even going to add some more this weekend"
Pre-picked pumpkins are available, Sirles adds, with mums arriving this week. Apple Cider Slushies are back, and this year's Apple Donuts return next weekend.
