...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may
cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat
exhaustion and heat stroke.

School district raising funds for family of Saline County student killed in crash

A local school district is raising funds to help the family of a young student who recently died in a crash.

16-year-old Eldorado High School student Thomas Long lost his life in a crash that happened on Thursday, May 26.

The high school says that now, funds are being collected to help Long's family pay for funeral expenses.

According to Eldorado High School, anyone who wants to help Long's family can donate directly to Eldorado High School Foundation via PayPal at [email protected].

Additionally, the high school office will also be taking donations for those who would rather donate in person.

The high school says that 100% of the donations will go directly to the Long family.
