CARBONDALE, Ill., (WSIL) -- Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites everyone to get spooky for Halloween at the Student Center on October 31. Organizers are planning for an entire day of activities in the Student Center, with the Halloween Bash as the highlight. The Halloween Bash will set for Halloween evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms. The event will have trick-or-treating and a variety of activities by the Center for Service Learning and Volunteerism and TRiO Achievers.

Other events happening throughout the Student Center on Halloween include walk-in crafting activities in the Student Center Craft Shop between noon and 2 p.m. For a nominal fee, you can make a Halloween themed tie-dye t-shirt or choose from some of their nonseasonal crafts.

You can also find discounts on bowling and billiards, with special pricing for the day. Costumes are optional.

Costumes are not optional at the campus community costume contest. Stop by the Roman Room between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to show off your costume. Photos will be taken of each contestant, with prizes going to the top two. Those pictures will be posted on the Student Center's Facebook Page.
