Tennessee woman injured in I-57 crash

UPDATED 9:11 A.M. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20, 2019

WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. 鈥� A Tennessee woman was injured in a crash on Interstate 57 Tuesday.

It happened around 5:15 a.m. on I-57 near mile post 46 in Williamson County.

A semi driven by Juda Faye Brown, 57, of Jacks Creek, TN, was headed south in the left lane when a tire blew, causing the truck to veer into the right lane, hitting the rear of听 a second truck tractor trailer. Brown鈥檚 semi then ran off the road into the center median.听

Brown was extricated from the vehicle and flown to a regional hospital for treatment.听

UPDATE 8:24 a.m. TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2019

WSIL 鈥� Southbound lanes of Interstate 57 at mile post 46 are now open. Northbound lanes are still affected due to clean up. Northbound traffic is being diverted through the weigh station.听

A crash on Interstate 57 southbound at mile post 46 in Williamson County has the the southbound lanes blocked at this time.听 Also, a crash on Interstate 64 westbound at mile post 71.5 in Jefferson County has created traffic delays.

We know both crashes resulted in injuries, but Illinois State Police have not reported on the extent of those injures or how long the respective highways will be impacted.听
