CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Time is ticking for those who want to fly to Nashville, Tennessee from Cape Girardeau Regional Airport. The airport currently offers flights to the Music City through Contour Airlines. Starting on October 1, 2024, those flights will switch to Chicago. You can still book your Nashville flight through September 30, 2024.
According to the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport Manager Katrina Amos, the US Department of Transportation approved a request by Contour Airlines to change flight services.
The airport will soon reroute to Chicago in October.
This request from Contour Airlines back in June, requested the current flight from Cape Girardeau to Nashville and back to be switched to Cape Girardeau to Chicago and back.
Amos said Chicago has a larger airport and offers more options.
