METROPOLIS, Ill. -- A fire has destroyed a church in Metropolis on Monday night.
Fire crews responded to a fully engulfed abandoned church at the coroner of Eighth Street and Broadway Street.
Multiple emergency crews closed the street as firefighters sprayed the building with water and knocked the fire down.
Once the fire was out, only a couple scorched walls were left standing.
