Authorities respond to stabbing call in Franklin County; multiple juveniles injured, charges filed, sheriff's office reports

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- Authorities said a fight involving juveniles in rural Franklin County led to multiple injuries on April 29.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office received a call at approximately 10:19 p.m. reporting the confrontation, where some people may have been stabbed. Deputies responded and said they found several juveniles involved.

The Sheriff's Office later learned that others sought treatment at a local hospital. The sheriff's office said two juvenile suspects and three juvenile victims were identified. One victim was transferred to an out-of-state medical facility for further care.

Authorities charged the two juvenile suspects with mob action and three counts of aggravated battery.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
