...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Peak daily heat index values up to around 105 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Friday.

* IMPACTS...Prolonged hot temperatures and high humidity may cause
heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Benton Rangers finish the season in second place!

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The Benton Rangers have finished their season as number two in the state for their class!

The final score came out to 54-47. The Rangers lost to the Phillips Wildcats.

While the Rangers just missed out on state champions, it is a major accomplishment to come in second in their Illinois class distinction. 

WSIL's Jake Siegel will have highlights of the game tonight at 10:00 p.m.
