Calloway County man arrested after throwing drugs out car window

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- Deputies arrested a man after throwing drugs out of a car's window at a traffic stop.

James Shock,35, drove recklessly along US Hwy 641 North on Saturday, causing officials to stop his car. According to officers at the scene, Shock broke numerous traffic laws before the stop. Upon the siren's activation, deputies reported seeing Shock chuck drugs out the window and almost hit multiple cars driving beside him.

Shock finally came to a stop near Radio Road. Officials took him into custody and searched the area for the missing drugs. Deputies reported locating over 80 pills, including Fentanyl. 

Deputies then searched Shock's car. Inside, they reported Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, Anabolic Steroids, $751 in cash and Drug Paraphernalia. 

Shock had a prior criminal history. Charges included trafficking Meth and other felonies. Shock was released from prison within the last month for charges out of Livingston and Marshall Counties. 

Shock's charges for this crime include the following: 

  • Numerous Traffic Violations
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
  • Possession of Marijuana 
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree-- Anabolic Steroid
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence -- Class D Felony 
  • Possession of Methamphetamine -- Class D Felony
  • Trafficking Fentanyl, 2nd Offense -- Class B Felony
