Calloway County man arrested on domestic violence

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. -- Deputies arrested a man on Monday for a suspected domestic violence charge.

Officials caught Kevin Hopkins in person with his girlfriend on Sunday after a report came to them about the violence. The victim left the scene after getting choked by Hopkins. Police say he put his hands around the victim's neck and stopped her breathing for a moment. 

Hopkins fled the scene before getting arrested on a warrant Monday. He faces the following charges:

  • Assault, 4th Degree (Domestic Violence)
  • Strangulation, 1st Degree
  • Unlawful imprisonment

Officials have not yet held a trial for the crime.Â
