Carbondale Police arrest man who carried supposed stolen gun

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Carbondale Police arrested a man on Tuesday after intercepting him with an allegedly stolen gun. 

Police arrived in the 400 block of East College Street at 7:15 p.m. Reports indicated a person was seen on the street with a weapon. 

Police say they discovered Isaiah L. Pryor, 18, of Carbondale at the scene. Pryor reportedly ran from the authorities upon seeing them. 

Police caught up to Pryor and held him. Officers on the scene say they found the gun discarded by Pryor nearby. Investigators believe the gun was stolen from a neighboring area. 

Authorities brought Pryor to the Jackson County Jail for the following charges:

  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon
  • Possession of a Stolen Firearm 
  • Resisting a Peace Officer
