...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Carbondale police investigate alleged shooting

UPDATE -- 3:38 p.m. -- Carbondale police sent a second alert at 3:38 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, informing residents they had left the scene of an alleged shooting. 

Officers said the 700 block of S. Lewis Lane was clear with no known threat to the public. 

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Carbondale police are on the site of an alleged shooting in Carbondale. 

The city's police department sent out an alert at 1:44 p.m. telling residents to avoid the 700 block of S. Lewis Lane. The alert said the police are looking into a shooting incident. 

There is no further information about this situation at this time.
