CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Police investigated a suspect with a gun on Saturday morning.Â
The Carbondale Police Department sent an alert to residents at 6:51 a.m. on Saturday, July 6. The alert said a male with a gun was in the area around Rawlings and Freeman.Â
At 7:12 a.m., police sent a follow-up alert that said officers were no longer in the area.Â
"There is no known threat to the public," read the alert.Â
