CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The city of Carbondale has welcomed back VEO scooters.Â
The scooters have begun popping up throughout the week and officially make their return on Friday. An official release about the return stated that 300 scooters will sit across the city for riders 18 and up. City officials hope students, residents and visitors can all utilize the scooters for safe and efficient travel through town.Â
"Our mission is to establish micro-mobility as a true transportation system to reduce automotive use and promote widespread utilization of shared alternative mobility in a safe and reliable way," said a representative from VEO.Â
Carbondale has released a  depicting where the scooters are allowed and available and where bike lanes are placed.Â
Those wishing to use the scooters should download the VeoRide app to unlock and pay for the rides.Â
