CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Rainbow Café hopes to help bring a national PrEP program to fruition.

The center announced it is looking for participants for a focus group. The group will discuss the federal government's push for the national PrEP program and what it should include to be successful in our area.

PrEP is a medicine that serves as a preventative measure for getting the HIV disease. The proposed program would help bring the medication to those without insurance.

The Rainbow Café says the focus group will last about two hours. While there is not a specific date for the meeting, the center says it will occur in the next few days.

Those who partake in the discussion will receive $50 via e-gift card.
