GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. -- Graves County Deputies caught two runaway minors from a development center after a brief chase on Thursday night.Â
The search was announced a bit before 10:00 p.m. Thursday when two minors escaped from the Youth Development Center on US 45 South. The sheriff's office confirmed it was aiding the Mayfield Police and Kentucky State Police in locating the two individuals.Â
The sheriff's office detailed the situation began when the two males ran from the center on foot. The suspects' descriptions were given so the public could help look for the boys. The first male was a bi-racial mix of black and white and had Afro-style hair. The second male was black and had dreadlock-style hair. Each of the boys wore Brown Carhartt hoodies with khakis and orange sandals.Â
Deputies confirmed they began the search near 45 South, the bypass over 80 and Macedonia. The Kess Creek served as the priority.Â
By 10:07 p.m., officials began to pursue a maroon 2014 Chev Pickup. The truck had been reported missing a few minutes prior, and deputies believed the boys were responsible.Â
The chase continued for 20 minutes through Marshall County and eastbound across I-24 toward Lyon County.Â
The suspects ditched the car near Exit 31, resulting in a foot chase. After six minutes, deputies caught the suspects.
Deputies have said the suspects being chased were indeed the escaped minors.Â
