MARION, Ill. -- The Illinois State Police have scheduled a blood drive in our region for Sept. 11.

The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Charter Lounge of the Veteran's Airport in Marion. It is scheduled to last until 6:00 p.m.

ISP says the event is a great way to honor and remember the victims of 9/11.

Appointments are available via or at 1-800-RED-CROSS. Walkups are also welcome.

T-shirts will be given out to donors while supplies last.
